Karnataka High Court Issue Notification : E-Filing Mandatory By Central & State Government From 1^st January, 2022

The Karnataka High Court has issued an notify requiring all departments of the Central and State Governments, as well as their affiliated offices, to file their cases, petitions, pleadings, and documents through the e-Filing System beginning 1st January, 2022.

The Notification Says :

“In pursuance to the directions of the Hon’ble Committee, Supreme Court of India, filing of fresh cases/petitions/pleadings and documents by the Government have to be made/filed mandatory through Filing System w.e.f:01-01-2022.”

Filing can be done on the portal: https://efiling.ecourts.gov.in/help by following the Step-by-Step Guidelines for e-Filing made available in the portal: https://efiling.ecourts.gov.in/help until the “Karnataka Electronic Filing (E-Filing) Rules, 2021” are notified.

This follows the directions of the Supreme Court of India’s Hon’ble e-Committee, which directed that all new cases/petitions/pleadings and documents filed by the government be made/filed mandatory through the e-filing System.

Earlier the Ministry of Law and Justice also directed all the Counsels of State Government to mandatorily do e-filing.

NOTIFICATION

           In pursuance to the directions of the Hon’ble eCommittee, Supreme Court of India, filing of fresh   cases/petitions/pleadings and documents by the Government have to be made /filed mandatory through eFiling     System w.e.f: 01-01-2022.

          Therefore, all the Departments of the Central and State Government and its affiliated office are required to file their cases/petitions/pleadings and documents through eFiling System made available in the portal: https://efiling.ecourts.gov.in by followings the Step-by-Step Guidelines for eFiling made available in the portal: https://efiling.ecourts.gov.in/help till “The Karnataka Electronic Filing (E-Filing) Rules, 2021” is notified.
