A Lakhimpur Kheri court on Monday rejected the bail pleas of Ashish Mishra, Lavkush Rana and Ashish Pandey, sons of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra, in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. Earlier, the CJM had refused bail to Mishra.

The bail was turned down by Sessions Judge Mukesh Mishra after the prosecution went through the ballistic report of the weapons used, eyewitness statements and case diary of the incident.

Court refused to grant bail as the matter is very serious and investigation is on.

The accused in this case appeared before the Crime Branch on 9 October and after 12 hours of interrogation, he was arrested and sent to Lakhimpur Jail on 10 October.

The incident took place during the farmers' protest on October 3. Four farmers were reportedly crushed by an SUV and it was also alleged that the SUV was part of BJP MP Ajay Kumar Mishra's convoy.

An FIR has been registered against Ajay Kumar Mishra's son Ashish Mishra and others under IPC section 302.
