BREAKING: Kerala High Court Junks Plea Seeking Removal of PM Narendra Modi’s Photo From COVID Vaccination Certificate With Cost Of Rupees ONE Lakh

Recently the Kerala High Court dismissed the Plea seeking removal of PM Modi Photos from COVID Vaccination Certificates.

The Court also imposed the cost of Rs 1 lakh for filing frivolous Petition. Justice P.V. Kunhikrish has passed this Order.

The Court observes that the Petition seems to be filed with political motives and a publicity motivated petition. Therefore, it deserves to be dismissed with a heavy cost.

The cost of Rs. 1 lakh to be paid to the Kerala Legal Services Authority within 6 week.

On the last date while hearing a petition to have Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photograph removed from Covid vaccine certificates, the Kerala High Court questioned a petitioner about his objection.

Following an oral hearing on the petitioner’s counsel’s contention that vaccination certificates issued in other countries do not include photographs of their respective leaders, Justice Kunhikrishnan stated orally,

Justice P.V. Kunhikrishnan questioned how including current Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image on vaccine certificates differs from naming a university after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

“What’s the big deal if Prime Minister Modi’s name appears on a vaccine certificate?” You work at an institute named after India’s Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. “Why not ask the university to remove that name as well?” the judge asked aloud.

The Court is currently hearing a petition filed by an RTI activist who claims to have received a paid COVID-19 vaccination from a private hospital.

Counsel for the petitioner contended that affixing the PM’s photograph on the COVID certificate is a violation of his fundamental rights because he is a captive audience, especially since he paid for the vaccination.

Petitioner was represented by Advocate Ajit Joy and Respondents by ASGI S. Manu and P. Vijayakumar.
