Twelve Judges of the Supreme Court are suffering from COVID-19, however the symptoms are mild.

As per tweet of Senior Advocate Pradeep A. Rai, who is also Vice President in Supreme Court Bar Association. On Thursday even the CJI is not available to hold Court.

 

 

 

 

 

 

As per reports not only this several employees of Supreme Court has also tested COVID-19 positive, due to which the Supreme Court’s functioning has been greatly impacted. Every day, between 100 and 200 RT-PCR tests are performed.

 

The reports suggest that the rate of infection among Supreme Court employees has approached 30%. Those with mild symptoms have been isolated at home. The Chief Justice is keeping a close eye on the situation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Central Government has formed a medical team led by Dr. Shyama Gupta that is working almost around the clock to meet the medical needs of the Supreme Court’s infected judges and staff.

According to reports, three of the five doctors at the Supreme Court’s CGHS centre tested positive. They have also been isolated. This has put additional strain on Dr. Shyama Gupta’s team.
